Because it shouldn’t be so hard to survive as a survivor...

Your gift to FTG can equip a woman with a path forward.

Our Work

We are an international counter-trafficking organization working with survivors of sex trafficking to help them answer the question of “What next?” Our mission lies beyond exiting interventions or acute aftercare; we are dedicated to addressing key causes of vulnerability - isolation and poverty - that often led to exploitation in the first place. Our foundation lies in providing tools and opportunities for survivors as they rise above poverty, paving their path to financial freedom while building a strong social support network, granting them the capacity to earn a sustainable livable wage while they focus on all others areas of healing. With over 13 years of experience in this field, we've learned to be adaptable and responsive to the unique needs of different communities and that each woman is unique in how she defines success. This allows us to co-create programs with the women and find innovative solutions that work within their lived context, ensuring they can regain control of their life but also that the next generation are able to break cycles of poverty and isolation in creative, sustainable, and generative ways.

Join us and together, we can expand economic opportunities and reintegration services for sex trafficking survivors.

Do you still want my bras? Free The Girls is not currently collecting bras. Some of our locations still have active bra selling programs, but due to the generosity of our supporters and corporate partners, we have enough inventory on hand to last for years to come. If you’re interested in donating bras we suggest reaching out to your local domestic violence shelters and homeless shelters. While they regularly receive clothing donations, bras are often overlooked as a crucial item for women in need. Otherwise, the following organizations are also known to accept bra donations:

Give Now

Surviving as a survivor is hard. Your support makes it easier. Your financial donation provides a survivor of sex trafficking a holistic approach to achieving true freedom. This includes education reimbursement, therapy, housing security, health initiatives, and, of course, economic empowerment for financial stability. Give now to help connect survivors to opportunities to help avoid further exploitation.

Give Monthly

Join our monthly giving group, a collective that understands long term success takes long term commitment. If you believe a person should not be placed in the same vulnerabilities that led to her exploitation in the first place, join the Seed Collective. Together, we can help eliminate the root causes of poverty and isolation, because we know that being away from a trafficker is only the first step on a long journey towards true freedom.

El Salvador

For the past decade, Free The Girls has been dedicated to empowering survivors of sex trafficking in San Salvador. Through a partnership with Mission to El Salvador (MTES), who address issues of homelessness, addictions, and violence, FTG has supported women on their journey to becoming successful entrepreneurs. Our assistance includes providing inventory, business training, and financial planning for long-term security.

Unique to El Salvador is the request to have children enrolled in private education as Salvadoran gangs often recruit from public schools. To address this, we offer scholarships and education reimbursement for a whole new generation, helping these women secure a legacy of choice rather than exploitation.

Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, it's not uncommon to work with older women who have been in commercial sex for decades. Often, they're even second or third generation to have been exploited as children. With a very competitive job market, difficulty navigating available services, a high cost of living, and housing insecurity, our case management in San José includes economic empowerment initiatives; job skills training; community savings groups; connecting women to counseling and addictions recovery treatment; and assisting with legal, medical, and social services as needed.

Learn. Advocate. Impact.

Even while awareness grows, the problem continues to increase. An estimated 50 million people were exploited through human trafficking in 2021. Rather than being overwhelmed by the magnitude of the problem, what if you could bring true freedom to those exploited for sex with something surprisingly simple? Watch our story to learn more.
